During the Market:
03.40 pm. The Nifty closed at 5083, with a gain of 77 points. Since opening, Nifty moved from strength to strength, touched a high of 5087 amidst broad market breadth. The top gainers were SBIN, AXISBANK, ICICIBANK, M&M & MARUTI, while the top losers were ONGC, IDEA, SUZLON, GAIL & POWERGRID.

02.57 pm. Nifty has touched 5081 and currently is trading at 5078 with Advance/Decline at 38/12. The top gainers are AXISBANK, ICICIBANK, WIPRO, SBIN & STER, while top losers are ONGC, IDEA, GAIL, GRASIM & SUZLON.

01.36 pm. Nifty has made a high of 5069, the Advance/Decline is maintained at 36/14.

12.07 pm. Nifty at 5058 with Advance/Decline at 35/15. The top gainers now are SBIN, STER, RCOM, WIPRO & BHEL, while the top losers are GAIL, TATAMOTORS, HDFC, CIPLA & ABB.

10.45 am. Nifty has steadily climbed to 5042, with Advance/Decline maintained at 36/14. Top gainers are STER, SBIN, BHEL, SUNPHARMA & AMBUJACEM, while the top losers are TATAMOTORS, ABB, CIPLA, BPCL & SUZLON.

10.10 am. Nifty has opened with a positive bias and touched 5020 then retreated a bit to climb without flinching. It has reached 5025 with Advance/Decline at 36/14. The top gainers are SBIN, SUNPHARMA, STER, RANBAXY & RCOM, whereas the top losers are HDFC, GAIL, CIPLA, ITC & ABB.

01.27 pm. Lackluster trading, ignorable day so far.

12.18 pm. Nifty is moving in a range of 5020-4990 since opening. Its better to stand clear of such a market.

10.24 am. Nifty opened on a positive note and rushed to 5020. The Advance/Decline is at 45/5 depicting a broad market breadth. The top gainers are SUNPHARMA, RPOWER, HINDALCO, WIPRO & ICICIBANK, while the top losers are BPCL, ITC, GAIL, MARUTI & GRASIM.

03.35 pm. Nifty closed at 4958 with a loss of 27 points over previous close.The market breadth was negative at 19/31.The top gainers were SUNPHARMA, RANBAXY, CIPLA, CAIRN & BPCL, while the top losers were HCLTECH, ICICIBANK, WIPRO, TCS & TATAPOWER.

03.00 pm. Market breadth has turned negative again with Advance/Decline at 14/36 and Nifty near 4949.

02.20 pm. Nifty has recovered to 4968. The Advance/Decline has also propped to 20/30. The top gainers are SUNPHARM, RANBAXY, BPCL, CIPLA & RELIANCE, while the top losers are HCLTECH, TATASTEEL, HINDALCO, SAIL & ICICIBANK.

01.53 pm. Nifty went down to 4935 and now is trading at 4943 with Advance/Decline stooping to 10/40. Most of the European and Asian indices are in the red.

01.27 pm. Nifty was pushed down to 4947 levels due to a bout of profit taking. It has now recovered to 4955, the Advance/Decline also came down to 19/31.

12.58 pm. Nifty at 4991 and Advance/Decline at 32/18. The top gainers are RANBAXY, SUNPHARMA, CIPLA, DLF & BPCL, while the top losers are HCLTECH, TCS, INFOSYSTCH, BHARTIARTL & WIPRO. The consolidation processes are marked with slow and steady pace. Third quarter end is always good for pharmaceutical  companies. The weakening of Dollar is having its impact on IT sector. The Nifty is also responding to the positive opening of European bourses.

10.28 am. Nifty on opening dived to 4931but quickly recovered to 4960+ levels, thereafter it is steadily recouping and currently is trading at 4978 with Advance/Decline at 24/26. The top gainers are RANBAXY, BPCL, M&M, CIPLA & MARUTI, while the top losers are HCLTECH, TCS, HINDALCO, IDEA & INFOSYSTCH.

During the Market:
03.35 pm. Nifty finally closed at 4986 with a gain of 16 points contrary to the global cues. The Advance/Decline improved to 29/21. The top gainers were HDFC, HCLTECH, HDFCBANK, BPCL & RANBAXY, while the top losers were HINDALCO, NATIONALUM, INFOSYSTCH, SUZLON & TATACOMM.

03.12 pm. Nifty has behaved exactly as per expectation. Nifty now at 4977 has totally recovered from early morning losses. The Advance/Decline is at 23/27 and top gainers are HCLTECH, HDFC, BPCL, HDFCBANK & WIPRO, while the top losers are NATIONALUM, HINDALCO, INFOSYSTCH, SUZLON & TATACOMM.

02.02 pm. Nifty at 4938 with Advance/Decline at 19/31. The Nifty is led by HCLTECH, HDFCBANK, BPCL, BHARTIARTL & HDFC, while being dragged by INFOSYSTCH, HINDALCO, STER, HEROHODA & CAIRN.

12.30 pm. As expected the Nifty is in the process of retrieving the early morning losses. The Advance/Decline at 16/34, brings the responsibility of recovering on a narrow range of stocks. The top gainers are BPCL, SIEMENS, BHARTIARTL, HDFC & HDFCBANK, while the top losers are HINDALCO, INFOSYSTCH, HCLTECH, SUZLON & HEROHONDA.

10.04 am. Nifty on opening spiked to 5002 then dropped to 4912. Currently its trading at 4930 with Advance/Decline at 8/42. The top gainers are POWERGRID, BPCL, ONGC, ITC & HDFCBANK, while the top losers are INFOSYSTCH, SUZLON, UNITECH, DLF & CAIRN.

03.45 pm. Nifty corrected to 4969 with Advance/Decline coming down to 11/39. A minor correction was long overdue. The top gainers were GAIL, POWERGRID, HDFCBANK, RANBAXY & AXISBANK, while the top losers were SUZLON, BHARTIARTL,
UNITECH, RELCAPITAL & RCOM.

02.08 pm. Nifty at 5014 appears not positive with Advance/Decline lagging at 20/30. The consolidation moves are very boring and time consuming.

12.54 pm. Nifty at 5007 moving sideways since last two hours with Advance/Decline at 20/30. POWERGRID, STER, RANBAXY, HDFCBANK & AXISBANK, while the top losers are SUZLON, BHARTIARTL, M&M, HCLTECH & INFOSYSTCH.

11.40 am. Nifty in the negative zone at 5001, the low made so far is 4994. The Advance/Decline is at 16/34 depicting a negative market breadth. The major Nifty decliners are SUZLON, BHARTIARTL, RELCAPITAL, UNITECH & M&M.

10.38 am. Nifty at 5012, it opened flat and has been operating in a range of 5030-5005 with negative bias. The market breadth is slightly negative at 22/28. The top gainers are STER, DLF, RANBAXY, AXISBANK & POWERGRID, while the top losers are SUZLON, TATAPOWER, M&M, BHARTIARTL & HCLTECH.

03.35 pm. Nifty closed at 5020. The day was without any fanfare, the Nifty gradually and cautiously consolidated to form a good foundation. The market breadth was broad throughout the session. The Advance/Decline was 34/16 at close. The High/Low of the session was 5036/4977. The top gainers were RANBAXY, HDFC, BPCL, ITC & TCS, while the top losers were BHARTIARTL, HINDALCO, JINDALSTEL, ONGC & STER. In general IT and Bank shares stole the limelight.

02.23 pm. Nifty has moved from strength to strength consolidating all through. It has made a high of 5030 and is currently trading at 5007. The top gainers are HDFC, RANBAXY, BPCL, TCS & TATAMOTORS, while the top losers are BHARTIARTL, HINDALCO, GAIL, JINDALSTEL & TATACOMM. The market breadth is is very wide and Advance/Decline is at 42/8.

11.58 am. Nifty at 5007 and Advance/Decline at 37/13. Not much fireworks, a dull session, can be avoided.

10.55 am. Nifty has opened flat and steadily built upon it, the movement is healthy with Advance/Decline at 40/10 and the high point reached is 5019. The top gainers are HEROHONDA, BPCL, MARUTI,  TATAPOWER, NATIONALUM, while the top losers are BHARTIARTL, STER, HCLTECH, HINDALCO & GAIL.

During the Market:
03.35 pm. Another event-less day but the good aspect was that there was no great bouts of profit-taking. The Nifty closed almost flat at 4976 with again of 10 points. The top gainers were MARUTI, RPOWER, RELINFRA, SBIN & RANBAXY, while the top losers were ICICIBANK, RCOM, SUNPHARMA, CAIRN & TATAMOTORS.

02.47 pm. Nifty very close to previous close at 4960 with Advance/Decline improving slightly to 26/24. By the end of the session some improvement expected.

01.43 pm. Nifty at 4949 and the market breadth still negative. The Advance/Decline is at 23/27. The top gainers are MARUTI, NATIONALUM, RANBAXY, JINDALSTEL & ACC, while the top losers are ICICIBANK, RCOM, CIPLA, TATAMOTORS & CAIRN. Near the end of the session some recovery may be evident.

12.53 pm. Nifty slipped to 4931 before making some recovery. It has now recovered to 4945 but the market breadth is still negative with Advance/Decline at 22/28.

12.15 pm. Nifty has slipped to 4947 with Advance/Decline coming down to 22/28. ICICIBANK & RCOM are the top losers pulling down the Nifty.

11.09 am. Nifty is at 4959, it has made a positive move by touching a high of 4972. Its hovering up and down the previous close with Advance/Decline at 24/26. There is no significant change in the price tags. The top gainers are NATIONALUM, SBIN, ACC, HINDALCO & RANBAXY, while the top losers are ICICIBANK, RCOM, STER, BHARTIARTL & SUNPHARMA.

10.03 am. Nifty has opened weak at 4963 and slipped to 4940 and the market breadth on opening was marginally negative  as Advance/Decline was at 22/28. The top gainers are BPCL, HCLTECH, ACC, AXISBANK & RELIANCE, while the top losers are STER, ICICIBANK, TATAMOTORS, PNB & MARUTI.

03.45 pm. Nifty closed flat at 4965 with 7 points gain amidst profit booking. Market breadth was slightly negative with Advance/Decline at 23/27. The top gainers were HCLTECH, ACC, HINDALCO, GRASIM & MARUTI, while the top losers were BPCL, RELIANCE, UNITECH, RELCAPITAL & TATASTEEL.

02.23 pm. Nifty at 4967 and Advance/Decline at 28/22, the near flat close expected or with a marginal gain.

01.25 pm. The bout of profit booking started at noon forced the Nifty to recede not only to previous close levels but even lower to touch 4944. Nifty still having trouble floating above previous close. The Advance/Decline at 29/21, HCLTECH, ACC, BHARTIARTL, WIPRO & TATAPOWER are the top gainers, while BPCL, RELIANC, UNITECH, JINDALSTEL & RELCAPITAL are the top losers.

11.09 am. Nifty has made it to 5003. Its now trading at 4996 with Advance/Decline at 43/7. The top gainers are HCLTECH, ACC, BHARTIARTL, TATAPOWER & SBIN, while the top losers are BPCL, RELIANCE, JINDALSTEL, RELCAPITAL & HEROHONDA.

10.07 am. Nifty has opened strong and touched a high of 4998 with broad market breadth, the Advance/Decline at 47/3. The top gainers are HCLTECH, ACC, SAIL, TATAMOTORS & AXISBANK, while the three losers are RELIANCE, BPCL & PNB.

03.35 pm. Nifty suddenly spurted in the later part of the session to make a high of 4966 led by steel sector in particular. Nifty closed at 4958 the market breadth was 41/9 at close. The top gainers were TATASTEEL, SAIL, TATAMOTORS, HINDALCO & SIEMENS, while the top losers were GAIL, RELINFRA, BPCL & WIPRO.

02.20 pm. Nifty is at 4935 and Advance/Decline at 34/16, Nifty keeps swinging between the ends of the range, but some weakness is creeping in. The top gainers are TATASTEEL, TATAMOTORS, SAIL, HEROHONDA & STER, while the top losers are GAIL, BPCL, HINDUNILVR, CIPLA & WIPRO.

01.28 pm. Nifty maintaining its early lead and oscillating in a tight range with Advance/Decline coming down to 35/15. It appears bears may strike or profit taking may ensue in the later part of the session.

12.48 pm. Nifty at 4942 still moving in a tight range, Advance/Decline has come slightly down to 39/11.

11.23 am. Nifty is holding on to its early morning gains and is range bound since opening. The Advance/Decline is at 40/10. The steel stocks are leading the rally. The top gainers are TATASTEEL, PNB, SAIL, JINDALSTEL& STER, while the top losers are GAIL, WIPRO, HDFC, SUNPHARMA & RANBAXY.

10.12 am. Nifty has opened with strength, made a high of 4949 and is moving sideways. The Advance/Decline is 46/4. The top gainers are TATASTEEL, JINDALSTEL, SAIL, SUZLON & STER, while the top losers are HINDALCO, GAIL, CIPLA & TATACOMM.

03.04 pm. Nifty at 4885 and has made a high of 4890, the Advance/Decline is at 46/4. The top gainers are JINDALSTEL, DLF, UNITECH, HINDALCO & STER, while the top losers are ONGC, BHARTIARTL, IDEA, POWERGRID & HINDUNILVR.

02.58 pm. Nifty since morning has continuously has kept its early gains and further has built upon it. The market breadth has also remained broad.

11.03 am. Nifty has touched 4868 and is advancing by strengthening itself. The Advance/Decline has bettered to 47/3.

10.01 am. Nifty opened strong and made a high of 4850, with convincing Advance/Decline of 46/4. The top gainers are JINDALSTEL, NATIONALUM, DLF, STER & UNITECH, while the top losers are HDFC, BHARTIARTL, GAIL & INFOSYSTCH.

During the Market:
03.35 pm. It was a dull and uneventful day, Nifty moved in a tight range and ultimately closed with lackluster at 1808. The top gainers were PNB, TATAMOTORS, TATASTEEL, SIN & HINDUNILVR, while the top losers were HINDALCO, JINDALSTEL, STER, NATIONALUM & RELCAPITAL.

02.21 pm. Nifty is still moving in a tight range but is expected to show some gains towards the end of the session.

12.25 pm. This day seems to lack action and may be overlooked till it gains some movement above previous close.

11.17 pm. Nifty has opened weak and made a low of 4786 twice but is making a recovery at 4805. Its movement is very much range bound but may recover in the later part of the day. The Advance/Decline is at 17/33 at present. The top gainers are BPCL, PNB, TATATSTEEL, RANBAXY & WIPRO, while the top losers are JINDALSTEL, HINDALCO, STER, NATIONALUM & ONGC.

03.35 pm. Nifty closed flat at 4819 with 5 points gain. Nifty lost all its early morning gains amidst profit taking.

12.16 pm. Nifty has slowly slipped to 4854 and Advance/Decline to 36/14. The top gainers being ICICIBANK, TATAMOTORS, SIEMENS, STER & POWERGRID, while the top losers are HEROHONDA, CAIRN, GAIL, IDEA & GRASIM. Since the market breadth is positive and there is no violent moves it is expected that the Nifty is consolidating at these levels.

10.57 am. Nifty has retained the the early morning gains and is moving in a very tight range. The Advance/Decline is also maintained at 46/4.

10.03 am. Nifty has opened strong and has made a high of 4889, presently trading at 4872 with Advance/Decline at 46/4. The top gainers are ICICIBANK, BHARTIARTL, BPCL, INFOSYSTCH & RELCAPITAL, while the top losers are HINDLIVR, CIPLA, GRASIM & SUNPHARMA.

03.35 pm. Nifty closed at 4814, almost flat with a gain of just 9 points. It was a listless and boring session. The top gainers were RELIANCE, HINDALCO, PNB, HDFC & HDFCBANK, while the top losers were BPCL, BHARTIARTL, JINDALSTEL, DLF & POWERGRID.

01.49 pm. Nifty continues to move sideways listlessly. The range bound movement is confined to 25 points +/-, waiting for a break-out. Global markets are marginally in the red.

11.48 am. Nifty is trading very choppy at 4814, although very flat with Advance/Decline at 22/28. The top gainers being RELIANCE, HINDALCO, NATIONALUM, CAIRN & STER, while the top losers are BPCL, HDFC, TATAMOTORS, DLF & TCS. Nifty is expected to show some action towards the end of the session.

10.12 am. Nifty is again back in the red at 4799 with Advance/Decline dipping to 17/33. It may probably make a lower low before staging a come back.

10.05 am. Nifty opened weak and dipped to 4783 but thereafter staged a smart recovery. Its now trading in the positive zone at 4811 with Advance/Decline at 24/26. The top gainers are NATIONALUM, STER, HINDALCO, BHEL & CAIRN, where as the top losers are BPCL, GRASIM, HEROHONDA, ITC & SIEMENS.

During the Market:
03.35 pm. Nifty has closed at 4805 gaining 22 points, almost flat, but the positive aspect of the session was that for entire session Nifty traded in the positive zone, although market breadth was not wide but remained positive. The top gainers were HINDALCO, SBIN, NATIONALUM, RELINFRA & STER, while the top losers were TATAPOWER, AXISBANK, HINDUNILVR, MARUTI & M&M.

03.17 pm. Nifty has almost been flat since morning except for the choppiness around 02.45-03.00 pm.

02.26 pm. Nifty not only kept on its early morning gains but built upon it to touch 4842, but now the bout of profit taking has statred with Advance/Decline dipping to 19/31. The top gainers are NATIONALUM, HINDALCO, RELINFRA, STER & RELIANCE, while the top losers are HINDUNILVR, TATATPOWER, AXISBANK, RCOM & M&M.

10.25 am. Nifty has opened with strength and rose to touch 4821, now it is trading at 4801 with choppiness. The Advance/Decline is at 35/15. The top gainers are RELINFRA, HINDALCO, STER, TCS & TATASTEEL, while the top losers are BPCL, UNITECG, TATANOTORS, HINDUNILVR & ICICIBANK.

The top gainers were TATAMOTORS, UNITECH, JINDALSTEL, ICICIBANK & RCOM, while the top losers were M&M, ITC, NATIONALUM, TATACOMM & POWERGRID.

03.06 pm. Nifty has made a high of 4778 and is going strong with Advance/Decline at 45/5. Expected to meet the expectation of 4790+.

01.19 pm. Nifty has reached 4751 with Advance/Decline at 45/5. Moves are promising but lethargic. The Nifty is moving from strength to strength.

03.35 pm.  Nifty closed with healthy gain of 86 points at 4680, it made a high of 4697. The Advance/Decline was at 44/6. The top gainers were M&M, HEROHONDA, STER, LT & UNITECH, while the top losers were GAIL, TATAMOTORS, TCS, BHARTIARTL & SUZLON. The market breadth was wide and positive in the entire afternoon session.

02.19 pm. Nifty has touched 4686 and the Advance/Decline has reached 46/4. M7m, ONGC, ITC, LT & STER are top Advancing stocks while TATAMOTORS, DLF, TCS & GAIL are the only losers in Nifty.  

01.07 pm. Nifty is strengthening with Advance/Decline at 36/14 and Nifty making a high of 4628. The top stocks Advancing are M&M, JINDALSTEL, STER, SAIL & HEROHONDA, while the top losers are TATAMOTORS, DLF, GAIL, IDEA & CIPLA..

02.45 pm. Nifty at 4611 very near to previous close, with Advance/Decline at 26/24. The top gainers are RXCOM, SUZLON, GAIL, STER & BPCL, while the top losers are BHARTIARTL, TATAPOWER, CIPLA, HCLTECH & RELIANCE.

01.17 pm. Nifty is range bound at 4639 with 37/13 Advance/Decline. It is lacking conviction as there no positive cues neither global nor national.

11.36 am. Nifty at 4636 and Advance/Decline in a very comfortable zone of 44/6 raises the hopes of better performance. RCOM, SUZLON, GAIL, UNITECH & STER are top gainers, while TATAPOWER, CIPLA, HCLTECH, NTPC & BHARTIARTL are top losers.

10.46 am. INR has gained by 16 paise now the USD vs INR is at Rs.48.85. Nifty at 4623 and Advance/Decline at 36/14.

10.04 am. Nifty opened strong and touched a high of 4647 and now is trading at 4631 with Advance/Decline at 45/5. The top gainers are SUZLON, RCOM, UNITECH, STER & RELCAPITAL, while the top losers are INFOSYSTCH, CIPLA, HCLTECH, HDFCBANK & WIPRO.

  • 03.38 pm. Nifty finally closed at 4608 after an event-less & lackluster performance with a loss of 17 points over previous close. Throughout the session Nifty was unable to decide its course filling the day with monotny.
  • 03.08 pm. Nifty is trading in a range up and down the previous close without any luster. The Nifty is at 4614 and Advance/Decline at 21/29. The top gainers are BPCL, RCOM, HCLTECH, JINDALSTEL & RELCAPITAL, while the top losers are NATIONALUM, STER, BHEL, M&M & BHARTIARTL. Nifty is unable to find the direction but the long term trend is intact.
  • 02.09 pm. Nifty is making an effort to add weight and is touching 4632, the Advance/Decline has improved to 25/25.
  • 01.30 pm.  Nifty at 4616, it has been trading near the previous close and it denotes that the Nifty indecisive and is waiting for a cue. The Advance/Decline is at 19/31.
  • 12.34 pm. Nifty at 4644 with Advance/Decline at 31/19 promises hope that some positive action is in the offing. The top gainers are BPCL, RCOM, RELCAPITAL, HEROHONDA & HCLTECH, while the top losers are NATIONALUM, STER, BHEL, GRASIM & MARUTI. Real estate is the sector to watch.
  • 10.01 am. Nifty opened with weakness and instantly slipped to 4576, since then it is trying to recoup. The Advance/Decline is at 13/37, the top gainers are SUZLON, HEROHONDA, RANBAXY, MARUTI & BPCL, while the top losers are ABB, ICICIBANK, STER, NATIONALUM & UNITECH.

  • 03.35 pm. Nifty closed weak at 4625 suffering a loss of 36 points. At close the market breadth was negative with only 10 stocks leading while 40 were declining. The top gainers were MARUTI, TATAMOTORS, WIPRO, SUZLON & HEROHONDA, while the top losers were ACC, UNITECH, SAIL, RANBAXY & STER.  
  • 03.01 pm. The market may bounce back as there are lot of shorts. The Nifty is trading at 4608 after touching a low of 4600. The Advance/Decline is at 10/40.
  • 02.18 pm. Nifty at 4621 with Advance/Decline slipping to 12/38. The top gainers are MARUTI, TATAMOTORS, SUZLON, HEROHONDA & RCOM, while the top losers are UNITECH, BHEL, HDFC, ACC & M&M. This may be in synchronization with the sudden fall in European counterparts, but they have returned back to be just in green.
  • 01.41 pm. After maintaining its early morning gains up to this time Nifty finally reversed its position with the Advance/Decline at 20/30 and Nifty going down below the previous close, can be termed as the market shake up. The ensuing profit taking bout may end soon. Till writing of this analysis Nifty has touched 4617.
  • 11.39 am. Nifty at 4727 and has made a high of 4733. The market breadth is positive with 47 stocks advancing and 3 stocks declining.
  • 10.34 If Nifty breaches 4730 then next resistance is at 4760.
  • 10.09 am. Nifty at 4710 and Advance/Decline at 48/2, the top gainers now are SUZLON, RELCAPITAL, M&M, MARUTI & BHARTIARTL, while losers are STER & BHEL. It appears Nifty is having a belated response to yesterday's good GDP numbers.
  • 09.58 am. Nifty has opened strong and touched 4702 with excellent Advance/Decline of 46/3. The top advancing stocks are BHARTIARTL, TATASTEEL, JINDALSTEL, DLF & BPCL, while top declining stocks are STER, UNITECH & SUNPHARMA.
