During the Market:

01.18 pm. Nifty is continuing its positive stride and has made a high of 4807. Its trading at 4803 with Advance/Decline at 37/13. The top gainers are CAIRN, AXISBANK, SAIL, INFOSYSTCH & WIPRO, while the top losers are DLF, SUZLON, BPCL, HINDUNILVR & RELINFRA. EUROPEAN markets are in red but Nifty is continuing its resilience.

11.04 am. Nifty opened weak but formed double-bottom and is building upon it. Nifty is at 4776 and has made a high of 4786. The Advance/Decline is positively inclined at 34/16. The top gainers are SAIL, HEROHONDA, RANBAXY, GRASIM & HCLTECH, while the top losers are BPCL, DLF, SUZLON, HINDUNILVR & PNB. Its time to ride with the wave.

  • Global cues continue to be mixed but Asian cues are positive.
  • Crude Oil has dropped to $ 71.45  per barrel.
  • USD vs INR is at Rs.46.715.
  • Nifty seems to have bottomed out, now consolidation & recovery is on the cards.
  • Expected High/Low 4790,4830/4710.
  • Buy around 4750 and sell around 4900 for short term gains.

During the Market:

03.40 pm. Nifty has closed almost flat at 4760. Probably this may be the bottoming out for Nifty. The top gainers were PNB, RCOM, BHARTIARTL, HINDUNILVR & SUZLON, while the top losers are TATASTEEL, HINDALCO, GAIL, TATAPOWER & CAIRN.

02.20 pm. Nifty has made a smart recovery and has come up to 4793 and Advance/Decline has also recouped to 31/19. The top gainers are BHARTIARTL, PNB, HINDUNILVR, INFOSYSTCH & SUNPHARMA, while the top losers are TATASTEEL, GAIL, HINDALCO, IDFC & ITC.

12.16 pm. Nifty has tanked to make a low of 4675. This should act as bottom and recovery may take place.

11.04 am. Nifty was unable to sustain and dropped to 4700, the Advance/Decline dipping to 6/44. The top gainers are BHARTIARTL, HEROHONDA, SIEMENS, RCOM & PNB, while the top losers are TATAPOWER, TATASTEEL, ITC, BPCL & HINDALCO.  

09.52 am. After opening lukewarm Nifty drifted to make a low of 4731 and thereafter started recouping. It has come back in the positive at 4769. The Advance/Decline is at 32/18. The top gainers are HEROHONDA, M&M, JPASSOCIAT, UNITECH & HINDUNILVR, while the top losers are TATAPOWER, ITC, CAIRN, ONGC & BHEL. Some recovery on account of short covering is possible.

12.34 am. Nifty closed at 4757 after making a high of 4768, market breadth was positive. The top gainers were JPASSOCIAT, HINDALCO, BPCL, UNITECH & SUZLON, while the top losers were HEROHONDA, ITC & GRASIM. Today's action can be viewed as the short covering because  of great sell off yesterday.


Today the trading will be from 11.00 am to 12.30 pm only. Trades to be settled on Tuesday(09/Feb).

During the Market:

03.40 pm. After the morning dip Nifty lost all the steam & confidence and meekly operated in the tight range consolidating all the way. Nifty closed at 4718 down by whopping 126 points. Nifty remained  at the lows while accumulation went on. The top gainers were TATAPOWER and HCLTECH, while the top losers were HINDALCO, RANBAXY, ONGC, SAIL & TATASTEEL.

01.00 pm. Weakness is unabated and insurmountable. Nifty is stuck and unable to gather steam.

11.34 am. Nifty opened very weak and made a low of 4715 with Advance/Decline dipping to 2/48. The only gainers are HINDUNILVR & HCLTECH, while the top losers are RANBAXY, TATASTEEL, JPASSOCIAT, JINDALSTEL & SAIL. Nifty is in downtrend for the short-term and may get supports around 4600. This present a good opportunity for cherry picking and accumulation.

During the Market:

03.45 pm. Nifty closed at 4845 with a loss of 86 points, falling back to levels of a day before yesterday. The top gainers were GAIL, ONGC, HEROHONDA & BPCL, while the top losers were HINDALCO, SUZLON, JPASSOCIAT, TATAMOTORS & UNITECH.

01.55 pm. Very little is expected out of today's session. Nifty still moving in the tight range. Advance/Decline at 10/40. The top gainers are GAIL, BPCL, ITC, ONGC & RELINFRA, while the top losers are HINDALCO, HDFC, TATAMOTORS, JPASSOCIAT & SUZLON.

10.58 am. Nifty opened weak in synchronization with the global cues and touched 4915 thereafter it fell further to make a low of 4877. Now it is operating in a range with Advance/Decline at 7/43. The top gainers are GAIL, RANBAXY, BPCL, HINDUNILVR & MARUTI, while the top losers are HDFC, HINDALCO, UNITECH, TATASTEEL & M&M.

During the Market:

03.45 pm. Nifty closed weak at 4830 down 69 points over previous close. The top gainers were AMBUJACEM, HDFC, HINDALCO, ONGC & POWERGRID, while the top losers were UNITECH, IDFC, RANBAXY, JPASSOCIAT & CIPLA.

03.14 pm. Profit booking is pushing the Nifty down, it has made a low of 4814 and now is trading 4842 but the weakness is unabated. The Advance/Decline is at 6/44.

01.41 pm. Nifty is trading tepid near the previous close at 4880. The Advance/Decline is maintained at 16/34.

12.41 pm. Nifty is trading at 4880 after making a low of 4872 and Advance/Decline has reversed to 16/34. Any positive movement is met with profit booking. The top gainers are HINDALCO, HDFC, AMBUJACEM, DLF & HCLTECH, while the top losers are BPCL, IDFC, AXISBANK, NTPC & CIPLA.

10.00 am. Nifty is slowly losing the early gains and has dipped to 4912 with Advance/Decline at 32/18. HINDALCO, STER, DLF, TATASTEEL & HDFC are top gainers, while NTPC, HDFCBANK, ICICIBANK, BPCL & CIPLA are top losers.

09.24 am. Nifty opened with a positive gap at 4907 and made a high of 4951. It has come off the high and is trading at 4927. The Advance/Decline is a 39/11. The top gainers are HINDALCO, STER, TATAMOTORS, DLF & ACC, while the top losers are NTPC, GAIL, BHEL, ONGC & IDEA.

03.50 pm. Nifty closed at 4899 with a gain of 17 points. Nifty was in negative territory for half of the time and in positive for the other half. It was a mixed bag performance, the top gainers were BPCL, GAIL, IDEA, JINDALSTEL & WIPRO, while the top losers were HINDUNILVR, RELCAP, HDFCBANK, SBIN & NTPC.

02.04 pm. Nifty has spiked up to touch 4918 and Advance/Decline at 37/13. The top gainers being BPCL, JINDALSTEL, UNITECH, AXISBANK & IDEA, while the top losers are HINDUNILVR, SBIN, RELCAPITAL, INFOSYSTCH & NTPC.

11.35 am. Nifty has retrieved the early morning loss and is trading near the previous close at 4870, it has ventured in the positive territory by touching 4895. The Advance/Decline is at 31/19. The top gainers are BPCL, UNITECH, JINDALSTEL, M&M & GAIL, while the top losers are INFOSYSTCH, RELCAPITAL, HINDUNILVR, HDFCBANK & HINDALCO.

09.27 am. Nifty opened with inherent weakness and made a low of 4831 with Advance/Decline at 16/34 with negative inclinations. The top gainers are IDEA, BPCL, BHEL, SUNPHARMA & SIEMENS, while the top losers are INFOSYSTCH, JPASSOCIAT, HINDUUNILVR, RELCAPITAL & HDFCBANK.

During the Market:

03.45 pm. Nifty closed almost flat at 4882 with a gain of 14 points. The top gainers were HCLTECH, ICICIBANK, SIEMENS, SUZLON & ABB, while the top losers were HINDUNILVR, WIPRO, JINDALSTEL, TATASTEEL & TATAMOTORS.

01.55 pm. Nifty heading near the previous close at  4850, with Advance/Decline at 21/29. The top gainers are SIEMENS, ICICIBANK, ABB, HCLTECH & BHEL, while the top losers are WIPRO, HINDUNILVR, TATASTEEL, JINDALSTEL & HINDALCO.

12.07 pm. The hike of CRR by 75bps will result in pulling down the liquidity by Rs.36000 crores and thus would help in reigning the inflation. The market has not reacted to this as this was expected and was factored in by the market.

11.52 am. Nifty is moving in a range around 4800 level with Advance/Decline at 5/45. Not much action anticipated and may end near a flat close.

09.06 am. Nifty has opened in synchronization with the global cues and headed straight to make a low of 4813 and Advance/Decline to 10/40. The top gainers are IDEA, ONGC, HDFC, HCLTECH & NTPC, while the top losers are WIPRO, INFOSYSTCH, JINDALSTEL, UNTECH & STER. Today most likely Nifty will be in consolidation mode.
